4 acres and a stream: Turkey Poults!

After waiting through most of April while two of our turkey hen sat on their eggs we finally have babies!

At last count we had ten poults, but its hard to really count because they hide under mama's wing.

And there are still more eggs to hatch out! Hopefully they will be good moms.

Oh, they are so cute. By the way Romeo is still a major topic of conversation at our house.

Well, maybe you shouldn't tell everyone that Romeo stomped on one of the babies and it didn't make it. They hatched out 13 but we lost 3 including the one Romeo stomped. Now an even 10, just have to keep those alive. And the other hen has finally made a nest and is back to laying eggs. Maybe we will have more poults in a month or so.
